Who can change an address online

Steps
- Sign in to your personal my Social Security account.
- Open My Profile.
- Enter the new mailing address and effective date.
- Review the information and submit the change.
- Save the confirmation and check later that the profile shows the new address.
When the online option does not apply
If you cannot use the online service, contact SSA by phone. In-person help generally requires an appointment. Address rules can differ for Supplemental Security Income, representative payees, international addresses, and pending claims.
